
Los Angeles police are investigating a deadly hit-and-run crash that left a 70-year-old man dead Monday night in the Rancho Park neighborhood.
The incident happened around 10:30 p.m. near the intersection of Exposition Boulevard and Westwood Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Responding officers found the victim unresponsive in the roadway. He was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not yet been released.
Investigators believe the man was crossing outside of a crosswalk when he was struck by a dark-blue Mazda hatchback traveling at a high rate of speed. The driver fled the scene without stopping to provide assistance or identify themselves, LAPD said in a news release.
