An off-duty San Bernardino County firefighter was killed Tuesday in a solo motorcycle crash in Lake Elsinore.
The collision occurred around 12:15 p.m. at the intersection of Railroad Canyon Road and Church Street. Emergency personnel arrived to find the motorcyclist with major injuries. The rider was pronounced dead at the scene, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department said.
No other vehicles were involved. Investigators said drugs or alcohol are not suspected as factors in the crash.
The motorcyclist’s identity has not been released, pending notification of next of kin. A procession of first responders and community members accompanied the rider from the crash site to the coroner’s office in Perris later that day.
