ORANGE COUNTY, NC – A deadly crash on I-85/I-40 in Orange County, North Carolina, took the lives of a married couple and sent two of their children to the hospital.
According to the North Carolina Highway Patrol, the 2018 Honda Odyssey veered off the road, struck several trees, and went down an embankment before hitting a large tree. Front-seat passenger Maria Nunney, 50, died at the scene, while her husband, Donald Nunney, 55, later died at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill.
Two of their children, a 9-year-old boy and a 14-year-old girl, were injured and transported to a nearby hospital, where they remain under observation. Authorities continue to investigate the crash and urge drivers to exercise caution in the area.
