DUBLIN, CA – Police arrested a woman following an I-580 crash in which she left her 1-year-old child inside the vehicle.
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP) – Dublin, officers found the woman walking away from the crash site. After questioning her, they returned to the scene and discovered the injured child, who is fortunately expected to be okay.
Authorities reported that the woman was driving under the influence and now faces multiple charges. Her identity has not been publicly released.
The CHP reminded drivers that operating a vehicle under any type of impairment affects judgment and endangers both the driver and others. This includes alcohol, prescription medications, over-the-counter drugs, and cannabis products.
Dublin is located about 35 miles east of San Francisco. The agency emphasizes the importance of making responsible choices behind the wheel.
