
HOLLYWOOD, CA – A woman was killed in a violent hit-and-run crash on Sunset Boulevard early Thursday morning after the driver responsible fled the scene.
The crash happened shortly after 12:30 a.m., when a speeding Range Rover heading east on Sunset Boulevard struck a white Mazda sedan crossing Wilton Place. The impact left the Mazda driver trapped inside her vehicle.
Officers attempted to free the woman, but she was pronounced dead at the scene due to the severity of her injuries.
The Range Rover driver ran from the crash site before police arrived, prompting an active investigation and search for the suspect. Authorities have not yet released the victim’s identity.
The intersection remained closed for several hours while investigators documented the scene and collected evidence.
