60-year-old Jorge Contreras was killed in a Riverside crash on Saturday morning at 10:31 a.m between University Avenue and Park Avenue. According to police, a second person was soon arrested under the suspicion of DUI.
It is said that 24-year-old Irene Diamond Sandoval was behind the wheel of a gray 2019 Toyota Camry traveling west on University when she crashed into a 2004-year-old Nissan Titan pickup truck heading south on Park.
Jorge Contreras was killed upon impact.
According to the Riverside PD, Sandoval was evaluated and determined by a Drug Recognition Expert to be driving under the influence of cannabis. She was arrested at the scene on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter and DUI resulting in death. She was later released after posting a $75,000 bond.
