A wrong-way driver crashed and was killed in a collision involving three other cars after a minutes-long chase with deputies. The accident occurred Tuesday evening, 9:30 p.m. at Highway 4 near Antioch Bridge.
50-year-old Victor Vigil was behind the wheel of a Lexus when he was in a pursuit with police for a traffic violation. Vigil ended up driving towards the wrong side of the road and ended up crashing into oncoming traffic, leading to a series of collisions with other vehicles.
Vigil was pronounced dead at the scene after crashing into a Mercedes with several others hospitalized.
