CULVER CITY, CA (November 17, 2024) – A suspect driving a Dodge Durango led California Highway Patrol officers on a chase Saturday night that ended in a crash into a guardrail and a home in Culver City.
The incident began around 9:41 p.m. on the southbound 405 Freeway near La Tijera Boulevard when officers attempted to stop the driver for traveling on the right shoulder.
The suspect exited at Culver Boulevard, struck a guardrail, and crashed into a home on Sawtelle Boulevard, causing significant damage to the living room. No one inside the home was injured. The driver was taken into custody, and a passenger, who described the crash as terrifying, escaped with minor injuries.
The off-ramp was closed for at least four hours Sunday morning as crews repaired the guardrail. CHP reported finding a handgun near the vehicle, and the investigation into the Culver City crash is ongoing.
