62-year-old Jeffrey Sperbeck, agent of former Denver Broncos quarterback John Elway, has died days after falling off a golf cart in California Saturday night.
The accident happened in La Quinta. Local news sources reported that Sperbeck was at the Madison Club in a golf cart with Elway, who was driving the cart. Sperbeck was reportedly rushed to the local hospital in critical condition. He died on April 30.
In a statement given Wednesday, Elway expressed his heartbreak and sadness at the loss of his agent and close friend and relayed his sympathies to Sperbeck’s family and friends.
Police said an investigation regarding the incident is underway.
