A driver of a semi truck was rushed to the hospital with severe injuries after a crash involving three vehicles and the power lines in I-5 Fresno County Thursday afternoon.
The collision caused a power outage in the area and prompted the closure of the I-5. Local authorities reported that the driver of the semi was traveling behind another truck when the semi collided with the other vehicle.
The crash caused the semi-truck to veer off the lane and into the dirt shoulder, crashing into the power lines. The driver was later hospitalized with his current condition unknown.
Local police said that one of the power lines fell on another truck near the crash site. That truck then collided with the second semi involved.
Witnesses spoke to local news and expressed their concerns for the drivers involved. The road closure caused a three-hour-long traffic jam.
