A multi-vehicle collision on westbound Interstate 80 along the Yolo Causeway early Thursday morning caused significant traffic delays stretching toward the Sacramento County line.
The crash reportedly happened at around 4:30 a.m. near the Chiles Road exit. According to initial reports, a vehicle had stalled on the causeway before being struck by another vehicle. A big rig was also involved in the incident.
Authorities confirmed only minor injuries among those involved, though debris from the crash was scattered across the roadway, further complicating the morning commute.
While just one lane was blocked near the Chiles Road exit, traffic slowed to a crawl along westbound I-80, with delays extending for several miles.
Emergency crews responded to clear the scene, and California Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the sequence of events leading to the crash.
