
29-year-old Volodymyr Molchanovych was killed after a DUI-related crash in North Sacramento late Sunday evening.
The incident happened at around 10:04 p.m. in the intersection of Watt Avenue and North Haven Drive. Officers responded and found Molchanovych in the passenger seat of the BMW involved in the crash. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The BMW was reported to have been travelling at a high speed.
Meanwhile the driver, a 26-year-old, was found unconscious and was rushed to the hospital.
The other person who sustained injuries was a passenger in the Nissan, the other party in the collision. Both were also taken to the hospital.
North Sacramento police report that the driver of the Nissan is a 50-year-old man who was under the influence of alcohol while driving. When the driver of the BMW awoke, it was revealed that he too was DUI.
Both the driver of the Nissan and the BMW have been arrested.
