The body of 9-month-old Oliver Cox has been found after he got swept away from his parents following a car crash that ended in the Trinity River in Big Bar Tuesday.
Oliver was in a Lexus sedan with his 19-year-old mother and 21-year-old father as they travelled through State Route 99. The mother was reportedly behind the wheel when their vehicle swerved off the road and down an embankment, rolling into the Trinity River.
The couple made attempts to free themselves and their child from the submerged vehicle they were trapped in. Unfortunately, at some point in the chaos, the baby was swept away by the water and disappeared into the river.
The parents suffered injuries and were rushed to the hospital. Meanwhile, the search for Oliver began, lasting days, according to a social media post. Oliver would later be found, removed from the river. He was pronounced dead May 6.
