An individual was left dead following a violent crash between a pickup truck and an SUV in the area of Broadway and Sweetwater Road in Lemon Grove Sunday evening.
The crash happened at about 8 p.m.. Video evidence showed the truck driving west in the east lanes of traffic and crashing directly into the other vehicle.
Responding deputies found a 28-year-old man next to the pickup truck that saw major damages to its front. He was its only occupant and reportedly had a strong odor of alcohol.
Inside the truck were two alcoholic beverages. A canister of nitrous oxide was also found near the vehicle.
The SUV, which held three occupants, also sustained major damages. Its driver and front passenger were rushed to the hospital — the passenger later succumbed to injuries and was pronounced dead.
The pickup truck driver was also rushed to the hospital. He faces two felony DUI charges, as well as a charge of vehicular homicide.
