
Three people were found unresponsive after a small plane crashed into the Pacific Ocean off the coast of Point Pinos in Monterey County on Sunday morning.
The aircraft, a twin-engine Beech 95-B55 Baron, departed from San Carlos Airport at 10:11 a.m. and was last tracked at 10:37 a.m., according to flight data.
Emergency crews responded after receiving reports of a possible crash in the water. Witnesses reported hearing the sound of an aircraft engine followed by a loud splash. Debris was later seen washing ashore.
Search and rescue teams located one person aboard a boat and discovered two additional victims still inside the submerged aircraft. All three individuals were reported to be unresponsive.
As of Sunday afternoon, the victims had not yet been transferred to the coroner’s office. Authorities have not released information on their identities or confirmed their conditions. The incident remains under investigation.
