
A 35-year-old man suffered serious injuries Monday morning when the crane he was operating veered off Highway 101 in Salinas and crashed onto a vehicle below.
Per the authorities, the incident happened at approximately 6:13 a.m. when the crane operator lost control, struck a guardrail, and fell off the freeway, landing on top of a Jeep Cherokee. The crane driver was hospitalized with major injuries.
The 45-year-old woman driving the Jeep sustained minor injuries and was listed in stable condition.
The California Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
