A 58-year-old bicyclist was killed Monday night after being struck by a Tesla on Main Street near Pyrite Avenue.
The crash reportedly occurred around 10 p.m. as the Tesla Model 3 was traveling westbound in the number two lane. According to police, the bicyclist entered the road without lights or reflectors, making it difficult for the driver to avoid the collision due to surrounding traffic.
The bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The 22-year-old male Tesla driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. The car sustained major front-end damage.
The investigation into the fatal crash continues.
