SAN BENITO COUNTY, CA – Three people were killed in a crash Tuesday night in San Benito County, according to the California Highway Patrol. The incident occurred around 6:55 p.m. on Shore Road, west of Lake Road, when a vehicle traveling westbound lost control and veered into oncoming traffic.
The errant vehicle collided with an eastbound car, resulting in the deaths of the driver and two rear passengers. Two of the victims were 17 years old, CHP confirmed.
The driver of the eastbound vehicle, the sole occupant, sustained serious injuries and was flown to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Authorities have closed off the area near the site of the San Benito County car crash as the investigation continues. Motorists are advised to avoid the area.
