SANTA CRUZ, CA (November 19, 2024) – A pedestrian died early Tuesday morning after being struck by a vehicle on Green Valley Road near Amesti Road, according to the California Highway Patrol. The crash was reported around 6:30 a.m. and involved a gray 2006 Toyota Camry driven by a 35-year-old man from Freedom.
CHP officials stated that the victim, a 53-year-old man from Royal Oaks, was hit while in the area. Emergency responders pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene. Investigators have not yet determined the cause of the collision but confirmed that drugs and alcohol are not believed to have been involved.
The pedestrian accident on Green Valley Road remains under investigation. Authorities have not released the names of those involved.
