FOUNTAIN VALLEY, CA (December 3, 2024) – A 25-year-old woman lost her life in a tragic car crash that occurred in Fountain Valley on Monday evening. The incident unfolded after a suspect, identified as 43-year-old Timothy Bradford Cole, was involved in an earlier arson attempt.
The series of events began with a house fire on Arches Court around 7:30 p.m. Residents were able to extinguish the flames, but police determined that the fire was intentionally set during a domestic dispute.
Later that evening, police located Cole’s vehicle in a parking lot on Brookhurst Street. When he entered the vehicle, officers initiated a pursuit. The pursuit ended abruptly at the intersection of Ellis Avenue and Magnolia Street when Cole ran a red light and collided with a BMW X3.
The impact of the Fountain Valley car crash was severe, resulting in the death of a 25-year-old female passenger in the BMW. Two other occupants of the BMW sustained critical injuries and are currently hospitalized. Cole himself was also injured and is in serious condition.
The Fountain Valley Police Department is investigating the incident and is expected to file charges against Cole.
