FRESNO, CA – A deadly crash on Friday night in California left four people dead and two others injured. The California Highway Patrol responded to the scene just after 10:30 p.m. at the intersection of Shaw and Floyd avenues.
Investigators say a van traveling south on Floyd was pulling out from a two-way stop when it collided with a Nissan heading west on Shaw. The Nissan struck the driver’s side of the van, causing the van to flip and both vehicles to catch fire. Tragically, the driver and one passenger of the van, along with the driver and one passenger in the Nissan, died at the scene.
Two men in the Nissan were able to escape the car with moderate injuries. Two other passengers in the van suffered minor injuries. Authorities believe alcohol and/or drugs may have been a factor in the crash, but the investigation into the fatal crash at Shaw and Floyd Ave is ongoing.
