TULARE COUNTY, CA (November 3, 2024) – A man in his late 20s died early Saturday morning following a suspected DUI crash in Tulare County, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). Authorities received reports around 4:00 a.m. of a reckless driver speeding eastbound on Highway 198 near Highway 99, just west of Visalia. Moments after the initial call, CHP was notified that the vehicle had veered off the road and crashed.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the man was driving a Honda Sedan at high speed when he lost control, went off the roadway, and collided with a fence before the vehicle rolled over. According to CHP, the driver was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the car. He was transported to a nearby hospital but later succumbed to his injuries.
CHP investigators suspect that alcohol may have played a role in the car crash in Tulare, though further details are pending. The man’s identity has not yet been released.
