
RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CA (December 3, 2024) – A 2-year-old boy from Crestline, California is dead after a firearm accident involving his 7-year-old brother at the Foothill Crossing shopping center in Rancho Cucamonga.
San Bernardino County Sheriff’s deputies responded to reports of a shooting in the parking lot on Monday, December 2nd.
Upon arrival, officers found the toddler suffering from a gunshot wound. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but pronounced deceased.
Investigators determined the child and his older brother were inside a vehicle when the 7-year-old discovered a firearm in the glove compartment. The incident resulted in the death of the younger child.The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division is leading the investigation into the Rancho Cucamonga accidental shooting. A report will be submitted to the District Attorney’s office for review.
