Oakdale Man Dies in Three-Vehicle Crash on Highway 120

OAKDALE, CA (August 15, 2024) — Lawrence Foutch, a 33-year-old from Escalon, died Wednesday morning following a three-vehicle accident on Highway 120 near Oakdale. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reports that the crash occurred around 7:30 a.m. when Foutch, driving a Hyundai hatchback, attempted to overtake a westbound Ford sedan in the merging lanes.
The Oakdale vehicle crash happened when the rear of Foutch’s Hyundai struck the front of the Ford, causing the Hyundai to spin into the eastbound lanes. There, it was hit by an eastbound Nissan, which then pushed the Hyundai into a concrete curb and traffic sign. The driver of the Nissan, a 54-year-old from Oakdale, sustained minor injuries and was taken to Kaiser Modesto, while the Ford’s driver, a 34-year-old woman from Oakdale, was unharmed.
The CHP reported that all drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident. Eastbound lanes of Highway 120 between River Road and Meadowlark Lane were temporarily closed for the investigation.
