PCH Collision Causes Traffic Standstill Near California Incline [Pacific Coast, CA]

PACIFIC COAST HIGHWAY, CA (March 7, 2024) — A collision involving a modified Honda Civic and a silver Volvo disrupted traffic on the Pacific Coast Highway near the California Incline, bringing movement to a near standstill for an hour on Tuesday afternoon. 

 

The PCH collision, occurring in the 1500 block, created extensive delays in both directions and compounded congestion along Ocean Avenue.

 

Early reports suggest the Honda rear-ended the Volvo as it attempted a left turn into Parking Lot 3 North, a move known for its risks. The Honda’s front-end damage, significant due to its design to absorb impact, raises questions about the speed at the time of the crash. Santa Monica Police Department’s official report is pending.

 

Despite the chaos, initial observations indicate no serious injuries. Authorities were quick to manage the scene, clearing the disruption swiftly. However, witness accounts suggest more vehicles might have been involved, an angle still under investigation.
