Pedestrian Killed by Alleged Drunk Driver in Lodi
SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY, CA (July 13, 2024) — A pedestrian was pronounced dead after being struck by an alleged drunk driver in San Joaquin County on Thursday night, according to the Lodi Police Department.
Around 9:40 p.m., officers responded to a report of a vehicle hitting a pedestrian at the intersection of Cherokee Lane and Elm Street in Lodi. The pedestrian, an adult man, was transported to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
The driver, a 49-year-old man, remained at the scene and was found to be under the influence. He was arrested on charges of DUI, vehicular manslaughter, and other felonies.
