Pedestrian Killed in Hollywood Crash Involving LAPD Officer

HOLLYWOOD, CA (April 30, 2024) — A tragic three-car collision involving a Los Angeles police officer resulted in the death of a pedestrian in Hollywood on Monday. The incident occurred in the 6000 block of Santa Monica Boulevard around 3:50 p.m., as reported by the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Firefighters at the scene attended to seven individuals, six of whom sustained minor injuries. The critically injured pedestrian, along with two others, was rushed to a nearby hospital where the pedestrian later succumbed to their injuries.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the collision was initiated when a vehicle traveling westbound on Santa Monica Boulevard struck the northbound police car in the intersection’s north crosswalk. The impact caused the police vehicle to spin and hit the pedestrian.
The identity of the deceased has not been released pending notification of next of kin. The exact cause of the Los Angeles pedestrian crash is still under investigation by local authorities.
