BERKELEY, CA (August 29, 2024) — A person was killed Wednesday evening after being hit by a BART train at the Downtown Berkeley station, officials reported. The incident happened just before 6 p.m., leading to significant delays on the Richmond Line.
According to BART, the victim was standing near the tracks when they were struck by the train. The incident caused major delays on the Richmond Line in the Berryessa, Richmond, and Millbrae directions.
