Pickup vs Van Crash in Madera Leaves Eight Dead, Only 1 Survivor
MADERA, CA (February 24, 2024) — A devastating head-on collision in Madera County claimed the lives of eight men early Friday morning, the California Highway Patrol reports.
The pickup vs van crash in Madera occurred on Avenue 7 west of Road 22, involving a Chevrolet pickup and a GMC van carrying workers to Firebaugh.
The pickup, hailing from Auberry, reportedly veered into the opposite lane, striking the Fresno/Kerman area van and resulting in the death of its driver and seven passengers, several of whom were not wearing seat belts.
One survivor from the van is currently hospitalized, with their condition yet to be disclosed.
A poignant detail emerged as the wife of one of the van’s passengers, following in a second van, witnessed the tragic event unfold.
