Police Pursuit Ends in Crash in Mid-Wilshire, Injuring Innocent Driver
LOS ANGELES, CA (August 1, 2024) — A police chase ended with a suspect crashing into an uninvolved driver in the Mid-Wilshire neighborhood of Los Angeles on Thursday afternoon.
The black sedan involved in the pursuit was speeding through Koreatown just after 3 p.m. at approximately 80 miles per hour. The vehicle collided with a white SUV at the intersection of West 5th Street and South Wilton Place around 3:09 p.m.
The impact sent the SUV spinning before it was thrown onto a sidewalk. The sedan also veered off the road, landing on a different section of the sidewalk.
One person from the sedan fled the scene and entered a nearby building. Officers quickly surrounded the area, pulling another individual from the car and placing them in handcuffs. At 3:13 p.m., six officers approached the building where the suspect had run, their firearms drawn as they moved through the parking area.
