Pursuit Involving Sheriff’s Patrol Car Leads to Multi-Vehicle Crash in San Jose

SAN JOSE, CA (April 29, 2024) — A high-speed chase involving a Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office patrol car ended in a collision that injured five people on Sunday afternoon in San Jose. The incident occurred around 12:35 PM at the intersection of Commodore Drive and King Road, according to the San Jose Police Department.
During the pursuit of a speeding driver, a deputy collided with an SUV not involved in the chase. All four occupants of the SUV were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, while the deputy also sustained minor injuries.
