Rescue in Rosamond Trailer Fire Saves Injured Resident and Dogs
ROSAMOND, CA (February 18, 2024) — In a courageous response on February 14, Kern County firefighters rescued an injured individual and two dogs from a severe trailer fire in Rosamond.
The incident, reported at 1:22 p.m. on Stagecoach Lane, presented challenges as flooding impeded access to the site. Despite these obstacles, KCFD Rosamond Engine 15 and Medic Squad 15 swiftly adapted, reaching the 1500 square-foot double-wide trailer engulfed in smoke.
Upon arrival, they were informed of a victim inside the burning structure. An ambulance was promptly requested for advanced medical care.
The Rosamond trailer fire, originating in a corner bedroom, was aggressively contained by the first responders, preventing further spread. The search and rescue team, deploying a second hose line, discovered and safely evacuated two small dogs, reuniting them with their owner.
The injured individual was airlifted to safety with the assistance of California City firefighters. The extent of their injuries remains unknown, and no additional injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation, with Hall Ambulance, Cal City Fire Department, Mercy Air, and So Cal Edison providing support.
