Rideshare Driver Arrested After Fatal Costa Mesa Hit-and-Run [Costa Mesa, CA]

COSTA MESA, CA (March 7, 2024) — Costa Mesa Police have detained Thomas Loranze Henry, a 43-year-old from Ontario, in connection with a fatal hit-and-run accident that occurred over the weekend.

Charged with vehicular manslaughter and felony hit and run, Henry’s arrest came after a thorough investigation into the early Sunday incident.

The Costa Mesa rideshare hit-and-run incident, which took place near the intersection of Newport and Harbor Boulevard around 12:30 a.m., claimed the life of a 47-year-old woman. She was struck by a vehicle allegedly driven by Henry, who was operating as a rideshare driver at the time. Despite being rushed to the hospital, the victim succumbed to her injuries.

As the investigation continues, the Costa Mesa Police Department has yet to release additional details about the crash or the sequence of events leading to Henry’s arrest.
