Ronald Anton Identified as Victim in Fatal I-80 Chain-Reaction Crash
SACRAMENTO, CA (August 23, 2024) — Ronald Anton, 34, of Citrus Heights, was identified as the man killed in a chain-reaction crash on Interstate 80 earlier this week, according to the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office.
The accident occurred on August 19, just west of I-5. The California Highway Patrol reported that Anton’s Toyota Tacoma was struck by a pickup truck whose driver failed to notice stopped traffic.
The impact triggered a chain reaction involving three additional vehicles. Anton was pronounced dead at the scene. Another person sustained major injuries, while the initial pickup driver suffered minor injuries.
