Scooter Crash in Grantville Leaves Man with Serious Injuries

SAN DIEGO, CA (September 4, 2024) — A 39-year-old man is hospitalized with serious injuries following a collision involving his electric scooter and an SUV in the Grantville neighborhood of San Diego. The accident occurred at 3:40 p.m. Tuesday on the east sidewalk of 6000 Mission Gorge Road, according to the San Diego Police Department (SDPD).
The man was riding the scooter southbound when he collided with the front passenger bumper and fender of a westbound Acura MDX, driven by a 65-year-old woman through a parking lot at 6041 Mission Gorge Road. The impact resulted in an open fracture to the man’s left tibia/fibula. Fortunately, his injuries are not considered life-threatening.
The driver of the Acura was unharmed, and the SDPD Traffic Division is conducting an ongoing investigation into the scooter crash in Grantville.
