Single-Car Crash in Fresno County Claims Two Lives
FRESNO, CA (March 18, 2024) — Tragedy struck in Fresno County early Monday morning as a single-car crash claimed the lives of two individuals, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The incident occurred just after 1:30 a.m. on the east side of Copper near Willow Avenue, a short distance from Clovis North High School.
CHP Sgt. Bryan Hunt reported that a Tesla traveling westbound on Copper at a high speed failed to negotiate a turn, resulting in a collision with the center median guardrail. The vehicle overturned and ultimately came to rest on another guardrail in the center median.
Of the three occupants in the vehicle, two individuals were ejected upon impact and tragically pronounced dead at the scene. The third occupant sustained injuries and was transported to the hospital for medical treatment.
Investigations are ongoing, and authorities have not confirmed whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
