Six Dead on SR-138 in Two Separate Pearblossom Highway Crashes [Antelope Valley, CA]

SANTA ANA, CA (April 29, 2024) — Six people have died in two separate accidents that occurred within hours of each other on the same stretch of Pearblossom Highway in the Antelope Valley. 

The most recent incident took place just before 5:30 a.m. on Monday at State Route 138 and Hampel Avenue in Pearblossom, close to the scene of Sunday night’s deadly collision near 106th Street East.

In Monday’s early morning accident, a Honda minivan collided with a big rig that had pulled over to the side of the road. The minivan’s driver, who died at the scene, has yet to be identified, and the reasons behind the vehicle’s lane drift remain unclear.

This follows a tragic event on Sunday night around 8 p.m., where a collision involving a Toyota and a Mitsubishi resulted in the deaths of two drivers and three passengers. The Toyota was found overturned in the brush, and the Mitsubishi was on its side on the roadway’s shoulder.

Both accidents have led to significant investigations, with lane closures affecting traffic until early Monday morning. The exact causes of the Antelope Valley crash incidents are still under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
