Six Injured in Catastrophic Mid-City Collision Involving Pedestrian [La Brea, CA]

LA BREA, CA (May 6, 2024) — A severe two-car collision in Mid-City, Los Angeles, resulted in six injuries, including two critical, on Sunday evening. The incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. in the 4700 block of W. Venice Boulevard near La Brea Avenue, as reported by the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Emergency responders utilized hydraulic rescue tools to extricate at least one person trapped inside their vehicle. Five of the six injured individuals were transported to hospitals for treatment. 

The conditions reported include two women, ages 51 and 62, who are in critical condition; a 51-year-old man in serious condition; and a 40-year-old woman and a 13-year-old girl, both of whom sustained moderate injuries. Additionally, a man in his 40s was involved but declined medical transport.

One of the victims was identified as a pedestrian involved in the incident, though specific details about their condition were not immediately provided.
