Speeding Car Crashes into 2nd Floor of Vernon Building
VERNON, CA (May 19, 2024) — Four people were injured early Friday when a speeding Jeep went airborne and crashed into the second floor of a building in Vernon. The accident occurred around 2:30 a.m. near S. Downey Rd. and Leonis Blvd.
LA County Fire reported that the Jeep lost control, hit a metal gate, and flew into the building. Images show the car standing vertically, leaning against the structure.
The driver exited the vehicle on his own, while firefighters rescued the three passengers. All four were taken to the hospital, with their conditions currently unknown. Speed is suspected to have been a factor in the Vernon building crash.
