Teen Fatality and Arrest Following Suspected DUI Crash in San Jose
SAN JOSE, CA (September 4, 2024) — A tragic incident early Sunday morning claimed the life of a San Jose teenager following a suspected DUI crash on Highway 101. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that the accident occurred around 3:30 a.m. near East San Antonio Street.
Three 19-year-old residents were traveling in a Mercedes-Benz CLS 500 when the driver lost control. The teen seated in the left rear passenger seat was ejected from the vehicle and succumbed to his injuries. The driver and another passenger sustained minor injuries and were treated at a hospital. Following the incident, the driver was arrested under suspicion of driving under the influence.
The CHP has not yet released the identity of the deceased teen. They continue to investigate the DUI crash in San Jose and urge anyone with information to come forward.
