Tractor-Trailer Crash on I-15 in Hesperia Causes Major Delays
HESPERIA, CA (August 9, 2024) — A tractor-trailer accident on the northbound 15 Freeway in Hesperia caused significant traffic delays Thursday evening.
The crash occurred around 7:30 PM on August 8, 2024, between Joshua Street and Main Street. The semi-truck, carrying dry parcels, veered off the road, causing its trailer to overturn in a drainage ditch. The truck’s cab was damaged but remained upright, and the driver, who was uninjured, was assisted out of the vehicle by Good Samaritans.
Approximately 65 gallons of fuel spilled into the drainage ditch, requiring Hazmat teams for cleanup. The Hesperia truck crash blocked the slow lane and right shoulder, leading to major traffic backups. Later that night, Mariposa Road was closed between Joshua and Main Streets to protect personnel working at the scene.
