Tragedy on the 101 Freeway: Man Struck by At Least 6 Vehicles [Los Angeles, CA]

LOS ANGELES, CA (March 9, 2024) — A tragic event unfolded on the 101 Freeway on Friday night, where a man was killed after being struck by at least six vehicles, with preliminary investigations indicating the count could be as high as seven, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). 

 

The 101 Freeway accident happened in the northbound lanes south of Vineyard Avenue in Oxnard at approximately 9:15 p.m.

 

The victim, identified only as a Hispanic male, attempted to cross the freeway from the center divider to the east shoulder. During this attempt, he was hit by a pickup truck driven by a 19-year-old, leading to fatal injuries. 

 

Subsequently, several other vehicles collided with the man. The CHP report noted that multiple drivers remained at the scene, cooperating with the investigation, and it was determined that none of the involved motorists were under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
