FALLBROOK, CA (May 11, 2024) — A devastating accident on State Route 76 in Fallbrook claimed the lives of four individuals and left one person hospitalized with major injuries late Friday night. 

The crash involved a head-on collision between a sedan and an SUV near Horse Ranch Creek Road at approximately 11:18 p.m., as reported by California Highway Patrol Sgt. Juan Escobar.

Upon arrival, officers discovered one of the vehicles engulfed in flames. The intense impact of the collision resulted in immediate fatalities for four occupants, who were pronounced dead at the scene. A fifth victim was urgently transported to a nearby hospital; the extent of their injuries remains critical, and their condition has not been updated.
