Tragic Incident in Northridge: Man Killed Under Parked Car [Los Angeles, CA]

LOS ANGELES, CA (March 12, 2024) — A man was fatally injured in Northridge after being run over by the owner of the vehicle he was lying beneath. The incident occurred around 4:20 a.m. near the Northridge Recreation Center, on the 10100 block of North Reseda Boulevard, prompting a rapid response from the Los Angeles Police Department.

Upon arrival, officers discovered the man trapped under a Mercedes Benz, with Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics later pronouncing him dead at the scene. 

Preliminary investigations on the Northridge car accident suggest that the victim, believed to be homeless, had been sleeping under the car when the owner unknowingly started the vehicle and began to drive, classifying the event as a tragic accident.

The driver cooperated with law enforcement at the scene as investigations continued. This incident highlights the importance of vigilance and care when operating vehicles, particularly in areas where vulnerable individuals may seek shelter.
