Tragic Rollover Crash in Fresno County Claims Juvenile’s Life [Fresno, CA]

FRESNO, CA (February 12, 2024) — In a heartbreaking incident on Saturday evening, a juvenile lost their life in a rollover crash on southbound Highway 99, just north of Clovis Avenue in Fresno County. 

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that they were called to the scene around 6 p.m., where they discovered a 2500 Ram pickup truck that had overturned.

The rollover crash in Fresno resulted in moderate injuries for three of the four occupants, who were promptly transported to a local hospital for treatment. Tragically, a child was ejected from the vehicle during the accident and pronounced dead at the scene.

Preliminary investigations by the CHP suggest that the collision may have been influenced by weather conditions. Currently, there is no indication that drugs or alcohol played a role in this devastating event. Detectives are further examining the circumstances, including whether the occupants were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.

As the investigation continues, the community mourns the loss of a young life and hopes for the swift recovery of the injured. The CHP plans to release more information as their investigation progresses.
