Tragic Series of Events Links Three Fatalities Across Southern California [Culver City, CA]

southern california fatalities

CULVER CITY, CA (April 9, 2024) — A grim sequence of events unfolded across Southern California, resulting in the deaths of a man, a woman, and an infant, with another child hospitalized in what is now a complex homicide investigation spanning three separate crime scenes.

The tragedy began with the discovery of two children on the 405 Freeway in Culver City early Monday morning, followed by a deadly single-car crash in Redondo Beach. The series of events culminated with the finding of a man fatally stabbed in an upscale Woodland Hills apartment.

Authorities pieced together a chilling narrative: the man, found at the Montecito Apartments on Variel Avenue, had been stabbed multiple times. Neighbors described hearing disputes from the apartment he shared with his partner and their two daughters, but were shocked by the violence.

The sequence continued as the woman fled with her two daughters, crashing through a garage gate in a Porsche. The vehicle was later involved in another crash on Pacific Coast Highway in Redondo Beach, where the woman was found deceased.

The two children were discovered near the Howard Hughes exit on the 405 Freeway; the infant tragically died at the scene while the older girl suffered minor injuries. This scene is now connected to the Woodland Hills homicide, and authorities believe the incidents are related.

The Los Angeles Police Department, in collaboration with the California Highway Patrol and Redondo Beach Police, continues to investigate these connected Southern California fatalities. Anyone with information is urged to come forward to assist with the ongoing investigations.
