Tragic Shooting at Anaheim Senior Living Complex Ends in Two Deaths
ANAHEIM, CA (April 27, 2024) — A harrowing incident at the Tyrol Plaza Senior Apartments in Anaheim culminated in the deaths of two individuals, including the gunman, following a six-hour standoff on Thursday.
The violence erupted around 3:40 p.m. near State College Boulevard and Vermont Avenue.
The initial victim, the female manager of the apartment complex whose name has not been disclosed, was fatally shot multiple times at close range by a resident of the complex.
Eyewitness Joe Guerrero, who was present during the attack, described the shocking moment: “He just came up to her and shot her four times. I thought he was going to shoot me next, but he just looked at me and took off.”
After the Anaheim senior living complex shooting, the suspect retreated to his third-floor apartment, leading to a prolonged standoff. SWAT teams and a significant police force were deployed, evacuating residents and initiating temporary lockdowns at nearby schools.
The standoff ended when the gunman reportedly took his own life. The community is in shock, and the motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
