FRESNO COUNTY, CA (September 14, 2024) — Early Friday morning, a devastating car crash in Fresno County claimed the lives of three individuals.
The incident occurred just before 2:45 am at the intersection of Kearney and Garfield, where the driver, 25-year-old Dario Urena, lost control and collided with a palm tree, causing the vehicle to catch fire. Tragically, Urena, along with 21-year-old Syrus Suniga and 27-year-old Joey Suniga Jr., were trapped inside the car and pronounced dead at the scene.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) indicated that alcohol might have been a contributing factor in this fatal accident. “It was a preventable accident where we believe alcohol was a factor,” stated Mike Salas from the CHP.
