Train Strikes Car in University Park, Injuries Reported

LOS ANGELES, CA (May 12, 2024) — A train collided with a car on Saturday morning in South Los Angeles’s University Park, leading to minor injuries for five individuals inside the car.
The incident occurred at 901 Exposition Blvd. around 10 a.m., according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. Despite the collision, the injuries were not severe enough to require hospitalization.
Authorities swiftly evacuated passengers from the Santa Monica-bound E line train involved in the accident. They were provided a safe area to wait while arrangements for alternate transportation were made. No injuries were reported among the train’s passengers.
The scene captured on video shows a white car wedged next to the train. Further details on the cause of the University Park train accident or any contributing factors have yet to be released by officials.
