Triple Fatality and Multiple Injuries in 215 Freeway Collision
SANT BERNARDINO, CA (September 16, 2024) — A tragic accident on the 215 Freeway in San Bernardino resulted in the deaths of three individuals and injuries to two others late Saturday night, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). The 215 Freeway collision occurred around 11:26 p.m. near University Parkway on the northbound side of the freeway.
A 2020 Freightliner Cascadia was stationary on the freeway’s right shoulder when a 2018 Toyota Corolla, for reasons still under investigation, veered onto the shoulder and collided with the back of the Freightliner. The impact caused the Corolla to careen across the freeway, striking a 2010 Acura MDX traveling in the northbound lanes. Subsequently, the disabled Corolla was hit by a 2024 RAM 3500.
The accident resulted in the ejection of two women from the Corolla, including the driver, with a third woman found deceased inside the vehicle. All three were pronounced dead at the scene. Their identities have yet to be disclosed.
